The Commerce Department of Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia College has organized a "Soft Skill Development & Personality Development and Career Counselling Session for the students of BA/Bcom 5th Semester students for their future development . Principal Dr. Sikhamoni Konwar started the session with her speech followed by our Vice Principal and Coordinator of Commerce Stream Dr. Mowsumee Bordoloi Hazarika and The Guest of honour was Varsha Patwari (Manager , Directorate of Career Advancement, Assam Down Town University). The session was interactive Session which was very beneficial for the final year students.
The 6th Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia Annual Inter-Class Running Trophy Debate Competition was held on 26th September, 2023 on the topic, "In the opinion of the House, National Education Policy 2020 will act as a quantum leap in the field of higher education in India." In her inaugural speech, Principal Dr Sikhamoni Konwar expressed hope that this type of competitions will definitely help the students to broaden their mental horizon. Debator and News Anchor Mr. Netrajit Bora and HoD of Political Science Department of the college Dr. Mrimmoyee Baruah were the judges while Dr. Madhurya Chetia, HoD of Economics Department chaired the session as the Speaker. The trophy was lifted by Bishnurat Borah of B.A. 3rd Sem consecutively for the second time whereas Violina Kalita of B.A. 1st Sem and Kankan Jyoti Borah of B.Com. 5th Sem secured the 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. Himakshi Choudhury of B.A. 5th Sem won the consolation prize. Debating Secretary Devajanee Kashyap and her in-charge teachers Dr.Tasrina Hussain and Mrs. Indrani Kalita Choudhury offered their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all for making the competition a successful one. The Women Study Center of Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia College organised a Seven Days Self-Defense Training Program for Girl Students from 11th to 17th September, 2023. The program was inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Sikhamoni konwar. A number of girl students participated in the program in which training was given by trainer Mr. Sony Barua. Co-ordinators of Women Study Center, Dr. Mowsumee B. Hazarika and Dr. Tasrina Hussain has informed that registration for next batch is going on.

In a heartwarming display of compassion and intergenerational bonding, a group of students and the Teachers from the Psychology Department of Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia College paid a visit to "AMAR GHOR", an Old age home located in Pathar Quarry Road, Guwahati on 21st September on account of Alzheimer's day . This visit has not only brought smiles to the faces of the elderly residents there but also served as a powerful reminder of the importance of nurturing connections across generations. The visit began with the volunteers warmly welcoming the residents of the old age home. The day was filled with activities that allowed both the young and old to connect and share their life stories. The program was hosted by two very talented students from the 3rd semester ; Bishnurat Bora and Rashmiara Begum. At first, Head Of The Department, Dr. Hemasri K. Talukdar delivered a short introduction on significance of Celebrating World Alzheimer's Day. Bishnurat Bora gave a speech discussing the various symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. After that Ex Faculty and Alumni, Ms. Tusharika Gogoi delivered a speech on Short Term Memory and Long Term Memory and how these are affected during Alzheimer's disease. Faculty of the department, Ms. Anannya Kalita taught how to deal with the patients suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's disease with patience and care. Last but not the least, Faculty of the department, Dr. Rupali Sen Deka delivered a vote of thanks, where she thanked the audience for giving their valuable time, Principal Dr. Sikhamoni Konwar for support and granting permission to carry out this Programme, volunteers for their hard work and performances, teachers for organizing such a wonderful and thoughtful event . The Women Study Centre of Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia College organised a lecture programme on 22nd June on the topic "Benefits of Mutual Funds". It was a very informative session on investment plans, particularly for the women employees and girl students of the college. The team from DSP Mutual Fund undertook the session and the attendees were immensely benefitted. The principal of the college Dr. Sikhamoni Konwar thanked financial advisor Mr. Abhishek Jain along with the team from DSP Mutual Fund comprising of Rumpa Sarma and Pallab Baruah for delivering a lecture on financial wellness. The principal also appreciated the effort of the team for undertaking a lecture session in the college. One of the co-ordinators of the Women Study Centre Dr. Tasrina Hussain, Assistant Professor anchored the programme and welcomed the team. They apprised the gathering with various schemes and plans that would benefit the investors for a secured financial backup in the future. Dr. Mowsumee Bordoloi Hazarika, Vice Principal of the college and co-ordinator of the centre offered the vote-of-thanks. The programme ended with a positive note of interactions with the participants.
